Meet the Founder
Jessica Francois Johnson is a native of Baton Rouge, LA and the mother of
two sons, Travis Johnson being her youngest. Jessica is an active member of Living Faith Christian Center where she serves as a Greeter. In her spare time, Jessica enjoys reading and is even a member of a local book club. She is currently a Graduating Senior at Southern University A&M where she is pursuing her lifelong goal of a degree in Criminal Justice. She is seeking this degree after having worked for ten years as a correctional officer at the Baton Rouge Juvenile Detention Center. When not studying, Jessica truly enjoys volunteering her services to different organizations such as the Kiwanis Club of South Baton Rouge where she is a member. She was the proud recipient of the Dorothy M. Stepteau Polaris Award "Unsung Hero" from the GBR Pan-Hellenic Council on August 10, 2013 and Kiwanians of the Year Award in 2011. Jessica has also enjoyed the time she has spent being a CASA volunteer where she has been a voice for abused and neglected children in East Baton Rouge Parish. As shown, she has always been an avid supporter of community programs, but now has the resources to begin her own community initiative. “A couple of years ago, I saw a need,” explained Johnson, who is the mother of former LSU basketball star and NBA player Tyrus Thomas. “There are women and girls going each day without the proper fitting bra and undergarment, or completely going without simply because they can not afford them. Jessica Francois Johnson decided to found Jess' Bra Closet as an answer to this non-traditional need.
